The Alamo Area Police Chiefs Association was started in 2020 by local area Police Agencies. The purpose of the AAPCA is to support the mission of the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA) in its promotion and professional development of all executive and management personnel within duly constituted law enforcement agencies serving in the State of Texas. By sharing information, legislative issues, and cooperating with San Antonio Law Enforcement agencies, our association is better prepared to serve our communities.

The Alamo Association of Police Chiefs was instrumental in helping pass HB 37. HB 37 made mail theft a State Crime and gave local law enforcement the ability to investigate and file State charges to help combat the rise in mail theft crimes. Several members testified in front of the House Jurisprudence Committee and worked with State Legislators at the Capitol in Austin to get this important law passed. SB 631 was another bill that was championed by the AAPCA. This bill amended the Code of Criminal Procedure Art. 4.14(f) which provided a municipality with the ability to enter into an agreement with another municipality contiguous to the municipality to extend geographical jurisdiction of municipal courts for traffic related enforcement.

Both legislative projects had a positive effect not only on the Alamo Area, but jurisdiction across the entire State of Texas.

We look forward to providing continuing service to our Communities.
